HypoShea Release
On Wednesday 12/13/2017, we released our newest product: HypoShea Moisturizer Cream.
It is currently winter, a problematic time for many people with sensitive skin. The cold air tends to be drying, quickly leading to cracking, flaking, fissuring, and sometimes even skin infections.
HypoShea Moisturizer Cream is remarkable because it is a light moisturizer emulsion: a suspension of water in a natural, organic oil that comes from the Shea Tree (Vitellaria paradoxa) of the Sahel region of central Africa. Dermatologists have long known that emulsions made excellent lubricants or moisturizers for the skin. They’re generally not greasy, but at the same time thick enough to allow for a one time a day application, saving people both time and money. HypoShea Moisturizer Cream is also versatile: it can be used on both the body, the extremities, and the face.
Why do we call it “HypoShea Moisturizer Cream?” The product has been designed by dermatologists to be well-suited to people with sensitive skin. The “Hypo” part of its name comes from the world “Hypoallergenic,” meaning less likely to cause allergic reactions. HypoShea is notable for being free of fragrances, dyes, and formaldehyde-related preservatives, so it’s well suited to people with eczema or psoriasis. We decided to use only preservatives that are quite low risk of causing allergic reactions, so the product has no parabens, no formaldehye-releasing agents, and no formaldehyde, nor benzalkonium chloride.
HypoShea Moisturizer Cream is now available for purchase at Big River Silk Skincare Inc, at 8143 Walnut Grove Road, Cordova TN 38018: 1-901-309-0930, 1-844-363-8593. It is available as a 1 ounce jar ($4.95), a 2 ounce jar ($7.95), and an 8 ounce jar ($19.95). One can contact George Woodbury Jr. M.D., at GWoodburyMD@bigriversilkskincare.com, for more information.

As a side note: People with more severely dry skin may wish to look at one of the three other lines of Big River Silk Skincare™ Inc. moisturizers: GlycoShea™ Hand and Body Cream/Standard Strength; GlycoShea™ Hand and Body Cream/High Strength; or GlycoShea™ Facial&Neck Cream. These could be considered more aggressive moisturizers because they incorporate an Alpha Hydroxy chemical called Glycolic Acid, which smooths the appearance of fine lines. They are suitable for people with really dry skin or for people who have had extensive prior exposure to the sun.
