The Story Behind GylcoShea Hand & Body Cream

After 23 years of clinical practice as a dermatologist, in 2016 I decided to develop Big River Silk Skincare Inc. to make skincare products used by dermatologists for over 30 years now available commercially.. The goal of Big River Silk Skincare is to use natural and organic ingredients to create skincare products with a low risk of allergic reactions for people suffering from dry skin. One such helpful product is GlycoShea Hand&Body Cream®.

But what does the word “organic” mean, when applied to cosmetics and toiletries? Merriam-Webster defines the word as “of, relating to, or derived from living organisms.” Another definition is “of, relating to, yielding, or involving the use of food produced with the use of feed or fertilizer of plant or animal origin without employment of chemically formulated fertilizers, growth stimulants, antibiotics, or pesticides.” Shea Butter is tree-derived and is therefore by its very nature, organic. The Shea Tree grows naturally in the dry African savannah region without the encouragement of fertilizers and without pesticides

All the products of Big River Silk Skincare are developed by, designed by, tested by, produced by, and manufactured by dermatologists and we follow a careful quality control process.

Both strengths of GlycoShea Hand&Body Cream have minimal preservatives, no fragrances, and no dyes. They’re gluten-free, and not tested on animals.
